With a fierce passion for disability justice and music for over 20 years Izzy Kaufman, M.Ed is proud to join the Public Orchestra. Izzy is disabled, Jewish, and queer from Port Chester, NY now residing in Philly. She has a minor in flute performance from Ithaca College. Izzy studied vocal performance and played flute in 5 ensembles. Pre-pandemic Izzy played in the Philadelphia Freedom Band, an LGBTQ-centered band. Izzy believes in the power of music to create, connect and heal. When Izzy is not playing music they are working to make the world more inclusive for people with disabilities.
