Doug Hirlinger is a percussionist, composer, and educator based in Philadelphia. He is an active performer on the drum set and has appeared throughout the United States and Europe with many musicians and ensembles of note. Doug is increasingly interested in intersections between digital technology, activism, improvisation, and sound/music. His 2018 Kimmel Center residency resulted in a 10-piece suite called Dear Philadelphia written and performed with collaborators Ursula Rucker, M’Balia Singley, Tim Motzer, and John Swana. Doug creates computer music as Man From Nowhere.
